The chosen warm-up activity is Guided Meditation. This practice includes a series of steps designed to help students concentrate on the present, fostering focus, mindfulness, and concentration. Guided Meditation serves as a great tool for preparing students emotionally for the lesson, helping to ease anxiety and enhance receptiveness to new information.

1. Ask students to sit comfortably in their chairs, with their feet flat on the ground and their hands resting in their laps.

2. Instruct them to close their eyes and start paying attention to their breathing, inhaling and exhaling deeply.

3. Guide them to breathe in through their nose while counting to four, hold their breath while counting to four, and then exhale through their mouth while counting to four.

4. Continue with this breathing pattern for around two minutes.

5. After this duration, start a visualization. Ask them to picture a calm and safe place where they feel completely relaxed.

6. Describe aspects of this place, such as sounds, colors, and scents, to aid their visualization.

7. Let them remain in this state for a few minutes, reminding them to keep breathing deeply.

Durasi: 30 - 40 minutes

Debate on the Greek City-States

Students will be split into groups to discuss and debate the characteristics and contributions of the Greek city-states, particularly focusing on Athens and Sparta. Each group will prepare a presentation that highlights the main points and reflects on how these aspects still resonate in the contemporary world.

1. Divide the class into groups of 4 to 5 students.

2. Each group should choose one city-state to focus on, either Athens or Sparta.

3. Groups should research and discuss the key characteristics of their chosen city-state, including governance, society, culture, and its contributions to the present-day world.

4. After the discussion, each group should prepare a presentation (oral or using posters) summarizing their findings.

5. Groups will have 10 minutes to present their conclusions to the class.

Diskusi dan Umpan Balik Kelompok

After the presentations, utilize the RULER method to facilitate a discussion. Recognize students' emotions by asking how they felt during their presentations and while listening to their classmates. Understand the reasons behind these emotions by discussing what made them feel anxious, excited, or curious during the activity. Name these emotions accurately, helping students identify feelings like nervousness, pride, or interest. Express these emotions appropriately, encouraging respectful sharing of experiences and feelings. Finally, assist students in regulating these emotions by providing strategies to manage public speaking anxiety and underscoring the importance of active listening. This discussion will not only reinforce the content learned but also nurture socio-emotional skills, enhancing students' awareness and control in social interactions.
