Kegiatan Pemanasan Emosional

Journey to Calm

For this emotional warm-up, we’re using a Guided Meditation session to help students focus and be present. In this practice, students are gently led through calming verbal instructions to relax and centre themselves, which can ease anxiety, boost concentration, and set a positive tone for the lesson.

1. Have students sit comfortably with a straight posture and feet firmly on the floor.

2. Ask them to close their eyes and rest their hands on their knees or in their laps.

3. Guide them to take several deep breaths, inhaling slowly through the nose and exhaling through the mouth. Repeat this process three times.

4. Encourage students to concentrate on their breathing, feeling the air flow in and out, and to envision it as a soft light bringing a sense of calm.

5. Describe a peaceful scene, such as strolling through a field of wildflowers or walking along a quiet lakeshore, detailing the gentle sounds, pleasant scents, and overall serenity.

6. After a few minutes, invite the students to gradually open their eyes while holding onto that feeling of calm.

7. Finish by thanking the class for their participation and discussing how maintaining this relaxed state can benefit them throughout the lesson.

Additionally, dance serves as a valuable tool for developing socio-emotional skills. Celebrating World Dance

In this activity, students will explore and showcase various dance styles from around the world. Not only does this help them develop dance techniques, but it also enhances cultural awareness and the development of socio-emotional skills.

1. Divide the class into small groups of 4 to 5 students.

2. Assign each group a specific dance style from a particular culture (for example, samba, flamenco, dragon dance, or classical ballet).

3. Provide short video clips that demonstrate the assigned dance forms.

4. Have each group watch the video, then practice the basic movements of their assigned dance.

5. Once practice is complete, each group will create a short 2-3 minute presentation to share with the class.

6. Encourage students to observe and discuss the emotions portrayed through the dance movements during each presentation.

7. After each presentation, facilitate a short discussion reflecting on the emotions and experiences they encountered while learning the dance.

8. Wrap up the activity by prompting students to reflect on the insights they gained about themselves and other cultures through dance.
