Movements of the Earth

Medium

(Originais Teachy 2024) - Question Medium of Sciences

The Earth undergoes different movements that have a significant impact on our daily lives and observable natural phenomena. Two of these movements, rotation and translation, are responsible for the occurrence of the seasons in different regions of the globe. Considering that the rotation of the Earth occurs around an imaginary axis, and the translation is the movement that the Earth makes around the Sun, we have: (1) Rotation, which takes approximately 24 hours to complete, results in the alternation between day and night in a specific location, and (2) Translation, with a duration of about 365 days, defines the calendar year and is crucial for the variation in the incidence of sunlight and, consequently, the occurrence of the seasons. Based on these concepts and the movements of the Earth, explain: (a) How the seasons are formed and distributed in different hemispheres, considering the tilt of the Earth's axis. (b) How understanding these movements can affect the organization of human activities, such as agriculture and tourism, on a regional and global scale.

Sometimes we can see people who eat a lot or very little and realize they are not healthy. This may be a sign that they have an eating disorder, such as obesity, which is when a person is overweight from consuming more food than their body needs. On the other hand, anorexia is a disorder in which the person is afraid of gaining weight and eats very little, which can harm their health. People with these disorders need help to learn how to have a balanced and healthy diet. Thinking about taking care of our body, write about what a balanced diet is and why it is important to maintain our health. For example, the red swamp crayfish (Procambarus clarkii) was introduced in Brazil in the mid-20th century for food production. What is the biggest risk of this species to Brazilian biodiversity?
