The Southern Common Market (Mercosur) is an international organization created in 1991 by Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay, with the aim of promoting economic integration among these countries. Considering the importance of Mercosur for the region and the complexity of the factors involved in its integration, analyze and discuss the following aspects: 1) Evaluate how the diversity of interests and economic asymmetries among Mercosur members can influence the adoption of common policies in the bloc, highlighting concrete examples of measures that have been hindered or facilitated by these issues. 2) Examine how political changes in the governments of member countries can affect the dynamics of Mercosur's economic integration, considering both changes in political alignment and adopted economic orientations. Specify how a scenario of political instability in one of the countries could impact decision-making and the implementation of internal Mercosur agreements.
