Electricity: Electrical Circuits

Easy

(Originais Teachy 2023) - Question Easy of Physics

In a laboratory experiment, a physics student is setting up a simple electrical circuit to study Ohm's Law. He connects a 12-volt battery to an unknown resistor and measures a current of 2 amperes in the circuit. After the measurement, he connects a second resistor identical to the first one in series and repeats the current measurement. Surprisingly, the measured current is the same as in the circuit with only one resistor. Considering that the resistance of the conductor wire is negligible, what is the value of the resistance of each of the resistors used in the initial circuit? Justify your answer using Ohm's Law and concepts of series circuits.
