Lenin's theory on imperialism, which characterized the major capitalist powers as imperialists and advocated for the unity of colonized and oppressed peoples, was applied to China, which was suffering from foreign influence and national fragmentation. Additionally, the social conditions in China were marked by extreme poverty, inequality, and government corruption, leading to widespread popular discontent. The peasant population, which constituted the majority of the country, was particularly affected, with land concentration and exploitation by landlords and foreigners. The promise of agrarian reform and social justice made by the Chinese Communist Party resonated among the peasants, who became a crucial support base for the revolution. The experience of the Republic of China, which faced instability, civil war, and the inability to address fundamental issues such as land distribution, increased the perception that the nationalist government was unable to meet the needs of the people, strengthening the legitimacy and attractiveness of the communist proposal for social and political transformation.
