Since then, several other meetings have been held to monitor goal compliance and review strategies, such as the Paris Agreement in 2015. However, despite international efforts, the 2019 Global Assessment Report on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services, led by the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES), reveals that biodiversity loss continues at an accelerated pace.
