Have a look at this excerpt from the poem 'The Road Not Taken' by Robert Frost, a celebrated figure in American poetry: 'Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— / I took the one less traveled by, / And that has made all the difference.' Keeping in mind the cultural backdrop of the period when Frost wrote this, think about which of the following options best captures the essence of the poem and how it connects to themes of individualism and personal choices in early 20th-century America.

Have a look at the excerpt below, taken from a poem by Emily Dickinson: 'Hope is the thing with feathers / That perches in the soul, / And sings the tune without the words, / And never stops at all.' Think about the use of adjectives and adverbs in this excerpt. What role does the adjective 'feathers' play in shaping the metaphor in the poem, and how does the adverb 'without' add to the meaning of the line it appears in?

Sometimes in English, we want to say that something is not true or that we don't have something. For example, if I have a pencil and I want to say that I don't have an eraser, I can use a negative form. Look at this sentence: 'I have an apple.' If I don't have an apple, I can change the sentence to the negative form like this: 'I don't have an apple.' Now, imagine you have a dog and you want to say that it's not small. How would you write this in English, using the negative form? Write a complete sentence explaining that your dog is not small. Remember to use the word 'not' in your sentence.
