Circulatory System

Hard

(Originais Teachy 2024) - Question Hard of Sciences

Think of a big city. In the streets of this city, there are many cars and buses circulating, taking people and things from one place to another. Now, our body also has a transportation system, which is like a network of roads and tiny paths, where a liquid called blood flows, carrying food and oxygen to the cells and removing things that are no longer needed from there. This transportation system of the body is called the circulatory system. It is formed by the heart, which is our 'central station,' and by blood vessels, such as arteries and veins, which are like the roads and streets where the blood circulates. Now, imagine that you are teachers explaining to the students of a class how the circulatory system works and what each part of it does. Write a detailed explanation about the role of the heart, arteries, and veins in the circulatory system and how they work together to keep the body healthy. Remember to mention what each of these components does and why these functions are important for our body.

Plants are very important living beings for our world, and each part of them has a special function. The root helps the plant stay in place and take water from the soil, the stem holds the plant up and carries water to the leaves, the leaves use sunlight to make food, the flower attracts insects and animals to aid in reproduction, the fruit protects the seeds and helps the plant spread. With that in mind, choose a plant you know, like a flower you have at home or a tree from school, and describe a function for each part of that plant: root, stem, leaf, flower, and fruit. Explain why each of these parts is important for the plant to live and grow healthily.

The ozone layer, located in the stratosphere, is responsible for filtering most of the ultraviolet radiation emitted by the Sun. Its role is crucial in protecting life on Earth, as excessive exposure to this radiation can cause serious damage to the skin and contribute to the development of skin cancer. However, the action of chemicals released into the atmosphere, such as chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), has led to a process of ozone layer depletion, making it thinner and less efficient. Considering this context, answer: 1. Explain what CFCs are and how they are related to the destruction of the ozone layer. 2. Discuss the possible consequences for the planet if the depletion of the ozone layer continues at the current rate, considering the interactions between the ozone layer and the different terrestrial and marine ecosystems.

The evolution of the Solar System is a complex process that involves the formation of stars, planets, and other celestial bodies from a large cloud of gas and dust. Studying this evolution not only expands our knowledge of the cosmos but also allows us to understand fundamental aspects of physics and chemistry. On the other hand, ancient cultures developed mythologies and interpretations about the origin and evolution of celestial bodies, often based on astronomical observations and their own traditions. Considering the historical and scientific context, describe the evolution of the Solar System from its beginning in a molecular cloud to the formation and stabilization of planets. Explain how the observations and interpretations of ancient cultures can be related to this evolutionary process, even though they did not have the scientific knowledge we have today.
